Metal Swing Sets: Tips for Refinishing Your Swing Set to Make it Safer

Tip #1 – Check for Problems – First of all, when you are refinishing metals swing sets, you’ll want to check the entire set for any problems. Be sure to look for peeling paint or places that are beginning to rust. Use some pliers to poke around to make sure that the tubes are not corroding away. Also, check the bolts carefully, since they tend to rust easily.

Tip #2 – Replace Worn or Rusty Bolts – If you do find some rust bolts or bolts that are quite worn, you’ll want to make sure that you replace them. It may take a bit of work to take the metal swing sets apart to replace the bolts, but it is better than having the set collapse on your children. Tip #5 – Add Fresh Paint – If the paint is peeling off the metal swing sets, you’ll need to add some fresh paint to them. First of all, you need to get rid of the paint that is peeling off. They you can replace that with new paint. If you want to, you can even paint the entire swing set and give it a whole new look as well.
